This Life Coach and Author grew up in the small township of Cunnamulla, far south west Queensland, educated at the local State School. She spent her teenage years working in a local Bank during the week and riding motorbikes on the weekends.

Then Nancy married a grazier and started learning more about life on the land. She endured the drought of the early 1980’s which saw most of their stock sent on agistment from Muttaburra in the north to Talwood in the east. It was tough times and Nancy still remembers the day she looked up to the blue sky and screamed for rain.

The family sold out in 1994, following her husband suffering a serious illness, and started a new life in Toowoomba. It was also an opportunity to educate children Asti & Todd at good schools without the need for them to attend as boarders.

Nancy has a Certificate IV in Life Coaching and has written a book to complement this skill. Love your Body, Massage your Mind and Soothe your Soul is a daily journal overflowing with self help tips.

Please support my petition -
With no clear indication by the Queensland Electoral Commission that they are prepared to improve our voting system which currently allows for voters to cast more than one vote in their own name or to cast a vote in someone else’s name, Nancy Sommerfield has prepared a petition to the Queensland Government requesting an Identification Electronic Voting System be implemented prior to the next State election.
This Identification Electronic Voting System will require proof of identity and electronically mark the voter once they present at a polling booth on election day.
Nancy’s petition to The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland reads as “Your petitioners therefore request the House to provide the necessary funding and recommendation to the Queensland Electoral Commission to implement an Identification Electronic Voting System at polling booths, commencing at the next State election.  The Identification Electronic Voting System will require each voter to provide proof of identity when they present at a polling booth and their name would then be marked electronically as having voted, ensuring that voter cannot cast any further votes on that election day.”
Nancy believes that this system would help maintain our democracy and encourages you to support her petition which can be found at the following link –
